The gas generator is engineered for precise dosing of methylformate during the core gassing process, ensuring efficient operation and high safety standards. The generator's components are housed in a well-structured control station divided into three distinct areas.

Cabinet Structure:

1. Control Panel and Electric Components:

   • Houses the control systems and electrical components, ensuring centralized operation.

2. Pneumatic System and Dosing Pump:

   • Dedicated section for the pneumatic components and the dosing pump, which operates with methylformate.

3. High-Performance Electric Heater:

   • Provides necessary heating for methylformate vaporization and purge air.

Key Features:

• Volumetric Dosing Pump:

  • Completely sealed and magnetically driven, powered by an ADPE electric motor for precise dosing of methylformate.

• Quantity Monitoring:

  • Integrated device to monitor the actual amount of methylformate dispensed into the core during the gassing cycle.

• Pressure Control System:

  • Features an integral system allowing:
    • Low Pressure during the gassing phase, adjustable to optimize pump performance.
    • Increased Pressure during the purge phase, ensuring complete curing of the core. Both pressures can be independently controlled.

• High-Performance Heater:

  • Designed for efficient vaporization of methylformate and heating of purge air.
  • Capable of reaching a maximum working temperature of 130°C, controlled by a microprocessor with P.I.D. (Proportional + Integral + Derivative) functionality for precision temperature management.

• Main Filter:

  • Equipped with a double valve on both the inlet and outlet of methylformate to prevent foreign objects from entering the dosing pump.

• Control Panel Features:

  • Utilizes a Siemens S7 PLC for reliable control and monitoring.
  • Operator interface includes self-diagnostic capabilities for fault finding, enhancing operational safety.
